What This Space Is Built For

The Risenow community exists for one purpose — to support men who have decided enough is enough. Every feature, every rule, and every decision about how this space operates comes back to that purpose.

Men come here at difficult moments. Some are at the beginning. Some are returning after a setback. Some are months in and still finding it hard. The common thread is the decision to change — and the need for a space where that decision is met with honesty rather than judgment.

"You do not need to have it figured out to be here. You need to have made the decision. This community is for what comes after that."

The anonymity is intentional. You are a username. Nothing else identifies you here. That anonymity is what makes the honesty possible — and the honesty is what makes the community worth being part of.

A Note on Mental Health and Crisis Support

This community is a peer support space, not a substitute for professional mental health care. The men here can offer genuine understanding and solidarity — but they are not therapists, counsellors, or crisis workers.

If you are experiencing thoughts of self-harm or suicide, please reach out to a professional service immediately. findahelpline.com lists crisis lines for every country.

If you see a post that suggests someone may be in crisis, do not ignore it. Use the report function immediately. Responding with care while also flagging it is the right move.

Recovery from long-term pornography use can surface difficult emotions — anxiety, depression, shame, grief. These are real and they deserve professional attention alongside community support.

What We Are Building Here

Rules describe the floor. This section describes the ceiling — what this community looks like when it is working as intended.

A man posts on Day 1 and someone on Day 60 responds with exactly what he needed to hear — not a lecture, not a list of tips, just honest acknowledgement that Day 1 is the hardest and that the community is here for Day 2 as well.

A man has a setback and posts it honestly. The responses do not pile on. They recognise the act of returning as the thing that matters most — and they say so.

A man reaches 90 days. The community marks it the way it deserves — not with hollow congratulations but with the specific recognition that 90 days of this particular fight is genuinely hard-won.

That is the community we are building. These guidelines exist to protect it.

"Built for men who decided enough is enough. The community is what comes after the decision."
